Breakfast Picnic

We’ve teamed up with @staciscorner and she’s given us an incredibly fun way to bring a little more excitement to breakfast, read on to see her amazing breakfast creations!

An easy way to make breakfast more fun is to make art using your kids breakfast foods. Using frozen toaster waffles and fruits, you can transform a regular breakfast into something extraordinary that your kids will love and remember! Bonus: it’s fun for parents to get to show off your artistic side and literally “play with your food”.

Waffles, strawberries, & blueberries

If you’re like me, you love the idea of fresh, homemade waffles with the wonderful smells filling your home, but most of the time I’m too busy to try to make waffles myself! That’s where frozen waffles from the grocery store come in – just pop them in the toaster for a minute or so and suddenly your kids are thrilled that they get waffles for breakfast instead of cereal. Adding fresh fruit to the waffle not only ups the nutritional value, but also makes it more delicious and fun. Using blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, bananas, and a little bit of mango was the perfect touch for our breakfast and all of the fruits worked really well to add variety to our waffle animals. We also added some breakfast sausage.

Owl Waffles

For the designs, get creative and have fun! We chose to make owls, a dinosaur, and a butterfly and the kids were so excited about their cute breakfast foods. To make a more memorable breakfast or meal, make a picnic out of it! We used a simple blanket and laid it outside in our yard and brought our food out. The kids dressed up for the occasion and it felt more like a tea party than just breakfast! Overall, a simple and easy way to elevate your everyday routine and make memories with your kids at home.
